Role : Data Warehouse Architect (SSIS & SAP)
Location : Downtown, NYC
Duration : 8 Months
Start : ASAP
Position Summary:
Under managerial direction, the Data warehouse Architect will work with Data Management and Business Intelligence teams in defining solutions to extract data from SAP ECC to SQL Operational Data Store database and help architect/model our Enterprise Data Warehouse. Candidate must be capable of managing multiple tasks and development efforts simultaneously, be a self-starter, and capable of taking ideas through to implementation and should have excellent knowledge on Data Warehousing concepts.
Main Responsibilities:
§ Enterprise Data Warehouse Modeling
§ Must have SAP and Data Modeling Experience
§ Participate in the design, build, release and deployment procedures
§ Provide technical expertise & leadership to ETL/DW developers
§ Maintain ongoing functionality of SQL Server and hardware environments
§ Perform problem assessment, resolution and documentation
§ Validate data returned in all reports, provide a detailed analysis of data, and identify data quality issues
§ Tune SQL performance and efficiency
§ Document new development, procedures, or test plans as needed
§ Familiarity with SAP BW Extractors in SAP ECC is a must. Additionally, extracting data from these extractors using ETL tool (SSIS preferred) is highly recommended, with a deep understanding of the Change Data Capture (CDC) mechanism SAP uses for these extractors.
§ Knowledge of the SAP data model and SAP transactional processing is a benefit, in order to suggest and validate proposed data models for the Data Warehouse (DW).
Qualifications:
§ 10+ years of core Data Warehouse Modeling with progressive experience.
o SSIS Architect for pulling data from different data sources
o Excellent T-SQL knowledge
o Performance tuning and optimization using SQL Server
o Expert in writing stored procedures, functions, triggers etc.
o Expert in DW modeling techniques
§ Must have SAP and Data Modeling Experience
§ Excellent communication skills
§ Must have complete knowledge about SDLC and documentation
§ Must be a self-starter
§ Bachelor’s Degree required
§ Retail experience preferred
§ Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
