Job Description
Test or Development Software Engineer We are looking to hire top talent for the
ISTL Cloud Systems Software team in Hyderabad.
The IBM Cloud Systems Software (CSSW) is a product development organization
within Systems and Technology Business Unit.
CSSW has a very strong focus on Virtualization, Cloud management/ enablement
products and solutions.
Products worked by CSSW are the backbone to achieve Smarter Computing, and are a
strategic component of the IBM Smarter Systems portfolio.
These products provide the building blocks for management of Data Center
infrastructure.
With CSSW products and solutions, customers can: Automate data center operations
by implementing cloud- ready virtual infrastructures Unify the management of
physical and virtual resources for IBM servers, storage and networks Simplify
the management of optimized systems Achieve a single view of infrastructure
within the data center And lots more…
Desired Common Skills:
Product work experience Strong communication skills Strong problem solving
skills Exposure to Cloud/ Virtualization domain is an added plus Work with
globally distributed development teams and key stakeholders
Desired Development Skills:
Development experience using Python/ Java/ j2ee/ OSGi hands- on programming
experience.
Good understanding of OOA/ OOD. Familiarity with a variety of platforms and
Operating Systems (Linux/ Windows, System x, System P , System z).
Should have good understanding of hardware (Server, Storage & Networking)
architecture.
Familiarity with processes, and tools to include open source software in the
product deliverables.
Well versed with unit testing tools like Junit, Jmock and should have knowledge
of Test Driven Design and Design for Testability.
Familiarity with development tools like – Eclipse, Rational Team Concert, SVN.
Exposure to Virtualization and Cloud computing concepts will be an added
advantage.
Desired Test Skills:
Working experience of Systems Management Tools, and product test experience.
Working knowledge of test automation tools, framework etc.
Experience in any of the programming languages like Java, Perl & Python.
Functional Verification testing and Regression testing.
Familiarity with test tools like – Rational Team Concert, Rational Quality
Manager, SVN.
Experience in writing JUnit, TestNG tests is an added plus.
Passion for finding defects in a product, and bring a customer/ user centric
view to the product under development.
As part of this program, new hires would spend up to three months working
temporarily in the US.
After successfully completing the 3 month program candidates would join the ISTL
Cloud Systems Software team in Hyderabad Candidates for these roles would need
to be authorized to work for a short amount of time (up to 3 months) in the US
followed by being authorized to work in India.
