Primary Skills –
Sr. Software Engineer
5-8 years of experience
Technical Skills
- Mainframe – z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF
- Expertise in C++, STL and debugging techniques.
- Proficiency in DB2 SQL programming and administration
- Proficiency in XML
- Exposure to Unit testing tools like CppUnit
Key Responsibilities
- Design and code complex modules/products that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.
- Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
- Handles customer issues in timely manner, meeting the SLAs and ensures high quality standards are maintained.
- Provide inputs for product enhancements.
- Contribute to improve the product quality for better customer experience.
- Collaborate with quality assurance in creation of their test plans, test cases and participate in reviews.
- Assist quality assurance team by providing assistance to testers as needed to determine system problems.
- Evaluate impact of software performance, and recommend changes to software design team.
- Evaluate and make suggestions, participate in product documentation to
describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and
corrections.
- Assist in research and design activities as directed.
- Provide input to establish and improve departmental processes and procedures.
- Escalate issues to management as appropriate.
- Participate in design and code reviews with other developers.
- Mentor, train, develop and serve as knowledge resource for less experienced Software Engineers.
